Product FAQ

What is chamoe and how is it different from regular melon? A: Chamoe is a Korean oriental melon — also called Korean melon, golden melon, or yellow melon in different contexts. Unlike cantaloupe or honeydew, chamoe has a thinner skin, crisper and lighter flesh, and a distinctly floral sweetness.

Can I eat the skin? A: Yes — because these korean melon fruit are organically certified with no pesticide use, the peel is safe to eat.

How many melons are in each order and how big are they? A: Each order contains 5–6 chamoe of small to mid size, totalling approximately 1.5kg.

What is 15 Brix and why does it matter? A: Brix is the standard measurement of sugar content in fruit. A reading of 15 Brix means 15 grams of sugar per 100ml of juice — which is exceptionally high for a melon. Standard supermarket melons typically test at 8–10 Brix.

How to know it’s ripe: It’s normal to have your melons arrived hard, they are intentionally harvested early to survive the journey from Korea to Singapore. Leave them at room temperature away from direct sun for 1–2 days. When the blossom end gives slightly under gentle pressure and the honey fragrance is clearly detectable, they are at peak ripeness.

How to keep: keep refrigerated after ripening.
